Chopper Spirals Uncontrollably into Palm Trees at Popular Southern California Shoreline
An aircraft hovering above a crowded southern California shoreline abruptly commenced twirling wildly, finally dropping height and plunging into a row of palm fronds as beachgoers observed.
Videos shared online capture the helicopter commencing to spiral above the beach then descending towards the edge of the beach, where it becomes wedged between palms and a steps near the coastal road.
Rescue Operation Update
The Huntington Beach fire department reported five people were taken to hospital involving two who were in the aircraft and were “safely pulled from the wreckage” subsequent to the accident on the weekend.
Three persons on the street were harmed. Specifics on their wounds were not yet released.
The reason for the accident was not immediately released.
Planned Function
The department indicated the aircraft was associated with an annual “Cars and Copters” benefit occasion set for the next day.
