England Manager Tuchel States No Problem with Jude Bellingham, Foden, or Jack Grealish

Media Description: Tuchel discussing the Real Madrid Star

England's Head Coach Thomas Tuchel asserted that he has "no problem" with Phil Foden following these players were omitted the England squad for forthcoming fixtures against Wales and Latvia.

The midfielder did not earn a recall even after returning from a shoulder issue, whereas the Manchester City and Everton players are also absent despite displaying improved form with their clubs.

Tuchel revealed that the 22-year-old wanted to be part of the squad, having spoken with him via telephone.

"Bellingham is a special player, and for exceptional talents there can always be special rules," Tuchel remarked about the Real Madrid star, who has made just one start since coming back to fitness.

"However we opted to maintain the simple decision of inviting the same group.

"Bellingham consistently merits to be here. There is the factor that he has not quite regained his full rhythm again at Real Madrid - he has not completed a full match.

"He expressed a desire to be called up. We conducted a phone call."

The England boss made an effort to highlight his good rapport with the midfielder after Tuchel said sorry to him previously for describing his on-pitch behavior as "repulsive" in a televised interview.

Tuchel explained that he used the words "without meaning to" and would be more careful going forward.

Inquired if he had any issue with Bellingham, he said: "None. There is also no problem with Foden or Jack Grealish.

"Phil is returning to impacting and shaping games for Manchester City. Jack is very close to returning to the top form of himself.

"There exists no personal issue."

Bukayo Saka taking the place of the injured Madueke is the sole alteration to the previous team, with Ruben Loftus-Cheek and Jarell Quansah retaining their places after being late additions last month due to injury.

England play Wales in a friendly at Wembley on this Thursday before a World Cup qualifier in the Latvian capital on 14 October.

Should the team win in Latvia, they will need a maximum of two more points from their final two matches - against Serbia and Albania in November - to secure a place in the upcoming World Cup in North America.

Strong Performance By the Manager

England produced their finest performance significantly under Tuchel's leadership when they defeated Serbia 5-0 away in the Serbian capital in their previous match.

Tuchel says that performance meant it an easy decision to keep largely the identical group, though "there are no certainties" for any player regarding being picked.

"Our previous gathering was only three and a half weeks ago and the teamwork and spirit was on the highest level. That is why we decided to call up the same group to this session," he commented.

"Phil is in a very good moment. Wharton deserves to be with us. Curtis Jones and Chalobah are getting minutes with their clubs.

"We have players who warrant to be here. Cole Palmer is injured and is a key talent. It will always be like this.

"Is our team a stronger side with Jude? Yes. But I mentioned before, what do we do if he is unavailable before the tournament? Do we simply give up?"

The Manager's Media Briefing Gets Noticed

Thomas Tuchel again delivered a box office press briefing.

He, a master of managing his interactions with the media, started with an initial remarks to set out his thinking for his decisions.

Bellingham is fit and available and expressed interest to come to camp, but Tuchel explained he did not want to change the squad significantly after a statement 5-0 win over their opponents - where the boss noted unity was at an all-time high.

However with him not including Bellingham, and his frequent remarks about togetherness, it is difficult to avoid link the two - even though he said repeatedly how he is "exceptional" and that there is "no issue" between Tuchel and one of the national team's star players.

Tuchel has always made it evident that he aimed to make the England squad seem like a club team and, by keeping the identical selection after a big victory, he has done that. But the inquiries will come again in the next camp if the team win well in these next two matches.
