Paramount Skydance Will Cut Around 2,000 US Jobs – Update

Paramount Skydance plans to start large-scale job cuts during the week starting 27 October, eliminating nearly 2,000 American roles within a cost-cutting plan valued at $2bn led by CEO David Ellison.

These job cuts follow the combination of Skydance Media and Paramount Global, which closed in August valued at $8.4bn.

More international job cuts are expected, with Paramount Skydance aiming to disclose complete information in its third quarter earnings report on 10 November.

Previous updates stated the company aimed to reduce between 2,000 to 3,000 roles by early November.

By December 2024, Paramount retained almost 18,600 full- and part-time employees and 3,500 temporary project employees.

The company did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
